Still Time to Register for Conference

Just Over a Week to Go Until Conference Starts

If you haven't registered yet, there is still plenty of time.  Download a registration form here or go to the 2008 Conference page on the website to check out the programme to help you decide.

Even if you are busy at the weekend (watching Bathurst for example), there is still plenty left in the programme on Monday and Tuesday to make the trip worthwhile!

Conference Workshop

The Draft IPENZ Practice Note on Cold Store Design will form the basis of this workshop to be held as part of the conference from 3.30 - 5.00 pm Tuesday 14 October.

Following the devastating fire at Tamahere, IPENZ (Intitute of Professsional Engineers of NZ) established a working group to develop a practice note that would aim to clearly define best practice procedures for design and construction of cold stores.
Work has progressed over the last 6 months and a draft document is almost ready for peer review.

It is proposed that the workshop at the forthcoming conference will act as both an opportunity for industry members to comment on the document as well as providing further opportunity to discuss what the Association can do to ensure industry compliance to best practice in the area of facility design and fire protection.

The workshop is open to all interested members of the industry whether or not you are attending the conference.  There will be no cost to attend if you are not already part of the conference.

IIR Technical Day & Centenary Dinner

Your conference registration includes a full day of technical and primary sector presentations focussing on the future of refrigeration.

The programme for the IIR Technical Day contains a wide range of presentations that will provide key information for anyone in the refrigeration business or who is connected to any of the primary sector industries that are reliant on cold storage.

Don't miss this day by heading home early!

Note that high profile primary sector Director, Bill Falconer, will be giving a public lecture on "The Importance of Refrigeration to New Zealand's Future".  This will be at the conference venue from 5.30 pm on Tuesday 14th October.

And if you are staying for the day - why not join the IIR Team for their Centenary Dinner which is also being held at Te Papa, in the Angus Rooms.

Contact Rachel Harvie is you need more information about the technical programme and dinner.

Many Thanks to Conference Sponsors

Sponsor support for the Conference has been fantastic again this year. The Association Executive would like to thank all sponsoring companies for their support, without which we would not be able to put on such a fantastic conference.

Ecert - XML Update

Transition from proprietary code to XML format – timeframes extende
E-cert users who submit batch files need to transition from proprietary code batch file format to XML batch file format.
  • The deadline for this transition has been extended to at least March 2009, to allow companies adequate time to transition.
  • The SOAP2 release will provide the “translation tool” to assist users to translate existing batch files into XML format batch files. This tool, utilising the Data View button, can be utilised in E-cert Training (no transaction charges).
  • This release is scheduled to go into E-cert Training during the week of 27 October and into E-cert Live the week of 24 November. E-cert users will receive details of the exact release dates from ecert.admin@nzfsa.govt.nz
  • After the SOAP2 release, the Data View button will return an XML file suitable for on-line submission.  Currently the Data View button returns a full XML file – that requires substantial editing to be suitable for submission.

Additional beneficial functionality will be available in December
The SOAP2 release will introduce additional beneficial functionality for XML users (eg cancel or amend via batch files).

For SOAP submitters, information regarding the additional functionality is provided in an updated AP E-cert Submissions using SOAP - Technical User Guide located at http://www.nzfsa.govt.nz/ecert/animal-products/reference/index.htm.

For XML on-line submitters, information regarding the additional functionality will be provided shortly in the E-cert Help files http://www.nzfsa.govt.nz/ecert/animal-products/tutorials/help-files/index.htm
