Industrial Refrigeration Plant Operation Course

Again in conjunction with AIRAH, IRHACE will be holding their popular and highly regarded plant operation course.
Who should attend: This course is not only for plant operators but is excellent for anyone working in the industry or related trades who wants to gain a basic understating of refrigeration systems and principles with practical training and safety requirements with an emphasis on OSH requirements. In particular aimed at Electricians, boiler makers, fitters/turners, contractors and associated trades and engineers.(We have set minimum and maximum numbers so please register promptly)
Course outcomes: The course provides participants with the operational principles and safety requirements of an industry ammonia refrigeration plant and the skills required to be competent. A mix of theory, exam and practice and on completion participants will be able to:
List the common applications of refrigeration in industry
Demonstrative all relevant safe working practices in accordance with government acts, regulations and local by-laws while working on or with refrig systems
Describe and use the necessary thermodynamic principles
Identify and explain the operation and major components of the vapour compression refrig cycle
Demonstrate the operational principles of multistage vapour compression refrigeration systems
Explain the types and methods of capacity control of compressors and the significance of special lubricants and correct oil handling procedures
Demonstrate and practice service procedures associated with industrial plant including minor maintenance
Attendees will receive refreshments, lunches and a workbook plus additional resources. An exam mark and IRHACE/AIRAH certificate will be issued and upon completion of an “on job” workbook an Australian Qualification will be awarded by AIRAH.
Course costs:
IRHACE member $2500 + gst
Non members $2750 + gst Price includes expert tutor, all course fees, detailed notes, text books & daily refreshments and lunches.
